The End.

take the psi-q psychic test yourself

The Psychic Test, oh joy, seriously though I really don't think the questions will prove anything. Psychic-ness would not be something that is 'on' or even correct at all times and really there are perfectly reasonable explanations for dreams occuring. It may seem like something from beyond but more than likely it is from the subconscious mind. Just for fun lovies.

Anyway I think this is my last post on this particular blog because I want to keep the size trimmed down.
I'll post the new link later.

I’m Just Not Introspective Enough.

For years, actually it seems like a thousand years, I was stuck on the religion thing and the 666 crap.
Ooh scary right? Yeah I’d be afraid very afraid, of what?
A whole lot of nothing that’s what.

Most of the people I have to deal with in life are religious in some way but most do make it clear they believe in God.

I’m tolerant okay, as tolerant as I fucking can be... Oops swearing again. One-foot remains in the gutter and the other one is always going to hell.

Burn baby burn!

Do you want to know what the world feels like from an atheist’s worldview?

Well probably not but too bad I’m spilling the beans anyhow.

Everyday if I dare mention that I don’t believe any of this nonsense, no matter how pretty I try and paint the picture I’m scorned and quite frankly almost suddenly degraded in my humanity.

Yes, yes I am lower than pond scum, okay so get over it.

Please forgive me for my science fiction insertion here but, “WTF! Are you the pod people?” *Screaming in nice way.*

So really what society appears to be teaching people is: A person in our community is better off pretending they believe because once they admit otherwise the world will never really let them live it down.

Even though believing or not ceases to be written as a crime punishable by any law in the United States of America.

If you ever admit what your thoughts are as an atheist you will always be doubted even while pretending to believe or be reborn to the socially accepted norm.

I find this funny because where do people get off judging anyone for something like this since it would ultimately always be between me and God?

It happens to be personal and has absolutely nothing to do with the public.

I have decided that this is all I want to say on this matter, but remember every day, I am still human, I have to be supremely super-tolerant of probably 89% of the planet while not being allowed to really discuss how I feel about it.

People remember you will tarnish your image once you claim to not believe.

You become slightly contagious with some weird disease and people start thinking they have to keep their kids away from you.

So remember folks the best policy is to lie.

Psychological Devastation

"Even if you no longer care much about the well-being of prisoners while they are incarcerated, you need to remember that most of them are going to get out one day," says Haney. "It should matter to all of us what state of mind they are in when they are released."
Thought provoking review of the
psychologically devastating conditions inside our nation's Supermax prisons.

Although super-max confinement was ostensibly designed to control incorrigibly violent or dangerous inmates, many inmates so confined did not meet those criteria.

Human Rights Watch exegesis: a seriously mentally ill inmate in a super-maximum security prison was caught eating his own flesh after having cut open his arm with a shard of glass. He was brought before a disciplinary committee, and was sentenced to a year in the prison’s segregation cells.

The horror stories continue...

-With few means to draw public attention to violations of their rights, prisoners around the world frequently resort to hunger strikes, self-mutilation, rioting, and other forms of protest. The most dramatic recent such incident took place in Kazakhstan in July 2000, when forty-four prisoners at Arkalyk prison reportedly attempted mass suicide in protest of conditions. The inmates used razors and broken glass to slash their necks, stomachs, and wrists.

-A fourteen month long Department of Justice investigation of conditions at Nassau County Jail resulted in a scathing report released in September 2000. The report said the jail had an "institutional culture that supports and promotes abuses." The documented abuses included brutal beatings by officers and officers paying inmates to beat other inmates, especially targeting sex offenders.

-Offense: 104. Violation: Dangerous Contraband. Comments: Piece of Glass. Final Result: Guilty.
Record of Proceedings: Inmate appeared before the committee to address the charges. Inmate stated: I’m guilty. I was hungry and I was eating my arm that day. I found the piece of glass in my cell after I busted my light out. Disciplinary action: Segregation one year.”
—Illinois Department of Corrections, disciplinary hearing, August 22, 1998, Tamms Correctional Center, Illinois.

The complaint in a lawsuit against the supermax prison in Tamms, Illinois, drawing on prisoner medical records and psychiatrist interviews, details the self-harm of several mentally ill prisoners. Among the examples cited:
Twenty three year old D.T.Q. has an extensive psychiatric history that includes a year-long hospitalization at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute as well as several suicide attempts. After D.T.Q. was incarcerated at Tamms, he began hallucinating.
He screamed and talked to imaginary people in his cell, once explaining
to staff that he was busy having a party. Another time, he saw demons crawling out of his toilet and walls. He began to sit in a tent he had made himself from his blanket, explaining that he was hiding from five drunken correction officers who had threatened him.
He began to think his food was being poisoned, that the walls were closing in on him, that the guards were conspiring with one of the inmates to kill him.
Eventually, D.T.Q. became violent toward himself and he remains so today. He has repeatedly cut his arms and neck, bitten his shoulders, and bashed his head into a wall.
---
-T.C. routinely self-mutilates, slicing his arms, neck, and abdomen. He has had to be placed on suicide watch several times, once after he was found with a rope around his neck.
On August 20 [1998], with his arms already swollen from infected self-inflicted wounds, T.C. again cut his arm and began eating small pieces of his own flesh in front of a correctional officer.
The officer ignored the medical emergency and also ignored T.C.’s pleas to speak with someone from the mental health unit. Eventually T.C. was removed from the cell and his arm was stitched. Despite the obvious danger T.C. posed to himself, he was returned to the same cell and left unattended (and evidently still in possession of a dangerous instrument); again he cut himself, again requiring stitches to close the wound…. T.C. pulled the stitches out of his arm and lost more than half a pint of blood before he was discovered bleeding in his cell.
In an interview, this prisoner explained to Human Rights Watch that after he had cut his arm with a piece of razor he had inserted the piece into the gash on his arm.
When his arm was stitched up in the infirmary, the razor piece was not removed. Once returned to his cell, he tore out the stitches, removed the razor, and began cutting himself again.
---
Prisoners have swallowed pins, inserted pencils in their penises and
paperclips in their abdomens, bitten chunks of flesh from their arms, slashed and gashed themselves. In many prisons around the country, Human Rights Watch has interviewed prisoners whose bodies are massively scarred from self-mutilation. Both correctional and mental health staff acknowledge that self-mutilation is a major problem
